Caulfield's welcomes celebrated Chef Stephen Kalt to Beverly Hills

Acclaimed chef and restaurateur Stephen Kalt has joined forces with local hospitality impresarios Laurie Mulstay and Ron Marino (of Magnolia, Bar Chloe, and The Bar) to reinvent the former Caulfield's restaurant at Thompson Beverly Hills. This is Kalt's first-ever foray into the Los Angeles dining scene and together with Mulstay and Marino, he has reimagined this Beverly Hills dining destination and introduced the new Caulfield's Bar and Dining Room.

At Caulfield's Bar and Dining Room, the talented chef has completely redesigned the menus to offer diners his take on the American Grill, accented by Mediterranean influences and, of course, the bounty of seasonal ingredients available in his new Southern California home. The restaurant's all-new menus include breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with a soon-to-launch weekend brunch. Items range from simple, comfort food dishes, such as a selection of grilled pizzettes with seasonal toppings, to more sophisticated preparations like Duck Breast with Gaviota strawberries and Padrón peppers.

The newly updated interior design reflects a 1930s industrial-meets-Art Deco vibe and introduces a 12-seat marble-top communal table, custom leather arm chairs, custom cabinetry for wine storage, restored vintage furniture throughout, all new light fixtures, and antiqued mirrors backing the bar, among other highlights. - Great Taste Magazine

It's been 2 years since Musik Lounge started its mission tosupply key international DJs with a weekly hit of the world's best house music and help emerging artists break through to the international stage. Well Musik Lounge remains (and always will) a niche music and artist promotions company dedicated to a small, highly selective network of the world's most talented house music artists. It's not surprising with the dedication and expertise the business provides, that Musik Lounge has kicked some pretty cool goals in the music biz over the last 2 years. Check the stats;

Whereas the music cyber-verse just keeps expanding into a seemingly never ending black hole of junk, the world of Musik Lounge seems to keep condensing down to its most pure elements. Constantly tightening its music policy and refining its tastemakers to ensure only the purest elements of house music surrounds its vision. Musik Lounge > Etienne, thanks for your time and we're honored to be interviewing you. So, after 2 years of being a part of Musik Lounge, you are officially the highest rating producer. Your tracks have a trademark power and theatre we don't see in many other producers. Who have been your major influences and how did you become such a master engineer in the studio?

Etienne Ozborne > I have many influences; I would say my biggest influence is music with Latin flavors. I don't qualify myself as a master engineer. I think I worked really hard in the studio and I read a lot about mastering my technique. I guess it pays off ;)

Musik Lounge > Your production schedule must be pretty ridiculous with the number and quality of tracks you put out (a lot through Musik Lounge - thanks very much). Where's your hometown these days? Do you mix much in your hometown and also get time to tour through North America and beyond?

Etienne Ozborne > I live presently in Ottawa Canada, very near Montreal. I presently have two residencies, one at Circus Afterhours (ranked by DJ Mag #19 in world) and another in Ottawa at a club called "Sotto". I also mix in several countries including the United States, Brazil, Mexico, Russia, Korea ... my goal is to travel more because of my music. I presently prepare a tour in Germany and Spain for next summer!

Musik Lounge > Now we've been 'honored to have the exclusive behind some of your biggest remixes in the last 2 years - your remix of Sneaky Sound System's 'Friends' was our favorite. We've also seen a spike of original productions from your studio in the last 6 months. Are you working on any original material for 2013 and will Musik Lounge be first on pre release promo (ha ha)?

Etienne Ozborne > For sure! I always send my promos to Musik Lounge first! Actually I'm working on an original track with my good friend "Richard Beynon" featuring Cece Peniston. I also have another colab with Benny Royal "Can You Feel It' signed on Zulu Records. This track will include a My Digital Enemy Remix and an Abel Ramos Remix! I've also have 2 colab with Chris Montana, one on is label "S2G Productions" and another one featuring Shovell on Milk & Sugar Rec.

Musik Lounge > You've been a key member of Musik Lounge since it's inception nearly 2 years ago. Do you feel Musik Lounge has a lot to offer talented and aspiring producers who want to raise their profile and take things to the next level?

Etienne Ozborne > It's a must to get to the next level! I really think that Musik Lounge its the perfect tool for promoting your music and get real feedback from respected DJs and its also great to have selected and exclusive stuff for the weekend gigs.

Musik Lounge > I guess to finish off, we'd love to know, what is your favorite track / edit / remix you've done in the last 2 years?

Etienne Ozborne > Hmmmm, tough question. I think my new track with Benny Royal is gonna be a big one ! But as for my past productions I'd say Sweet Sensation on CR2 Records.

Musik Lounge > We love to hear this. Sweet Sensation was one of our first records signed through Musik Lounge. What a great tune!
